The King and Queen of Valentine’s Day were Tony Paul and Betty Salvati.
I think the most surprised residents were Tony and Betty!
Tony said he has a good life. He served in the war along with his four brothers. Thankfully they all returned safely. Tony worked very hard his whole life and now is able to enjoy his Castle at Brompton Heights. Tony loved being King –even if only for a day!
Betty worked at Nordan Bomb Site. She worked very hard making pieces for the bomb. Betty had seven sisters and three brothers. Betty’s mom worked very hard to keep he family together.
Betty was very proud to be the queen for a day and enjoyed it very much.
The king and Queen chose “Twister” as their “Royal Movie” at 3:30. They handed out invitations with conversations hearts to their family and friends. A good time was had by all.

Veteran's day ceremony presented by the Brompton Heights Recreation Department and Hospice Buffalo.
Brompton Heights honored 32 residents who served in the United States armed forces at a special Veterans Day ceremony. The 32 residents received a commemorative pin and a certificate in recognition of their service. Most importantly, they heard the words every veteran should hear, "Thank you!" Resident Ellery Niederpruem wore his Air Force uniform from World War II.

On September 28th 2009, the children from the East Amherst location Doodlebugs came over to watch a movie with our residents. The kids brought the movie and they were so excited . the movie was called “Hotel For Dogs” it’s a Disney movie and it must have been really funny because I could hear the kids and the residents laughing all the way down the hall. During the movie the residents and kids enjoyed some popcorn and some water, after they all enjoyed spending some time in our 50 style ice cream parlor. After everyone had finished up their ice cream the residents handed out back to school pencil boxes which they decorated and stuffed with supplies all the kids would need.
