Meet Some of Our Team
Helen Kurzdorfer joined Brompton Heights in 2003 as part-time Chauffeur and assisted her co-workers in the Recreation Department when needed. One year later she began working as a full-time Recreation Assistant, and in April 2010 was promoted to Recreation Director after serving as Interim Director for several months. Helen loves that she is in a position to spend a great deal of one-on-one time with the residents, and she enjoys brightening their day with a hug.
"The Brompton Heights Recreation Team promotes a sense of excitement and adventure through recreational programs. Exercise programs help residents feel alive and energized, while social gatherings are the perfect chance to make new friends. Other programs, such as the Garden and Cooking Clubs, provide opportunities for residents to use their individual talents in a meaningful way. Our residents celebrate their years of experience and share their knowledge with others. Have a look at our Recreation Calendars to see for yourself!"
Courtney Johnson began working in the Brompton Heights Culinary Department in 2007, but his outgoing personality was much better suited for the Recreation Department. In 2010 he joined the Recreation Team and has since been a well-loved member of the Recreation Department. His favorite activities include Bingo, serving ice cream in the Ice Cream Parlor, and playing games on the Nintendo Wii. He has received multiple "Co-worker of the Month" awards and recently celebrated his 5th anniversary.
"I like working at Brompton Heights because I feel that I am part of a team that never stops caring. I am proud to be a part of that. I wake up with pride hoping that I can make a resident or family member smile. After working at Brompton Heights for 5 years, I really feel like the residents are part of my family - especially when I am doing activities with them."
